The Stars beat the Minnesota Wild 4-0 Thursday night in the opening game of their playoff series in Dallas.  The Wild were outshot 14-2 in the opening period and 32-22 in the game.

Despite being heavily outshot in the opening period, the game remained scoreless until 3:53 into the second period when the Stars broke through. Dallas would add another goal in the second period and two more in the third.

The Wild were playing without forwards Zach Parise, Thomas Vanek and Erik Haula and had a hard time generating offense. Not helping matters was the fact that Minnesota took six penalties in the game.

Game two is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday night on AM 1390 The Fan. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 p.m.
