I'm a firm believer that Christmas is about spending time with family and not so much about gifts. I love giving people gifts and don't care about receiving them.

Now, with that being said, it doesn't mean that I haven't had my fair share of strange Christmas gifts. I appreciate everything that I'm given, but sometimes you can't help but laugh.

A few years ago I received an odd gift from my great grandma. I unwrapped it and noticed that it was a box of crackers. I am a very appreciative person, so I didn't question it or even try to open up the box.

I thanked my grandma for the gift she had given me and moved on with my night. My parents later asked me what my great grandma had given me for Christmas, and I told them that I got crackers. They seemed puzzled. They asked me to show them--So, I did.

Since I hadn't bothered to open the box because I was convinced it was crackers, they decided to open it for me.

My gift was definitely not a box of crackers, it was just wrapped in a cracker box. What was inside of the box didn't matter to me so much as the thought that went into giving me a gift. I would have been just as appreciative had it turned out to be what I thought it was. But, it's a funny story to look back on and laugh about now.

My family still makes jokes about it to this day. What funny, strange or weird gifts have you been given over the years?
