With 51% of the sun blocked by the moon early this evening, you will definitely notice the dimming of light here in Central Minnesota. The partial solar eclipse will begin at 4:22 PM, peaking at 5:35. Sunset is at 6:31 PM. Don't look directly at the sun (ever), it can damage your eyes.

The SCSU Planetarium in the Wick Science Building (825 1st Avenue South) is hosting a free 'Watch the Eclipse' event. Doors will open at 4 PM, and cameras & telescopes on the roof will capture the eclipse, transmitting images onto the planetarium screens.

They will also be streaming the eclipse live here: http://scsu.mn/Eclipse14.
