The Hermantown Hawks were crowned 2016 Minnesota Class A Boys Hockey Champions with a lopsided 5-0 win over Breck Saturday afternoon in St. Paul. In Class AA the title went to the upset-minded Wayzata Trojans, knocking off top-seeded Eden Prairie 5-3 for their first hockey title in school history.

Hermantown had appeared in the state championship game six previous times -- finishing second on each occasion.

Now Spring can begin in Minnesota, and by the looks of the forecast this week -- it's timing is impeccable.
