The Vikings released punter Chris Kluwe Monday after drafting punter Jeff Locke from UCLA in the 5th round of last month's NFL draft.  Kluwe tweeted "So long Minnesota, and thanks for all the fish.  Thank you for the fans, my teammates, and the Wilf Family for the past 8.5 years.  I wouldn't have traded it for anything".

Kluwe has punted for the Vikings from 2005-2012.  He averaged 45 yards per put and had a net of 39 yards per punt in 2012.  Kluwe is 31-years old and became outspoken this past year on social issues including the gay marriage question in Minnesota.  Kluwe is hoping to catch on with another NFL team.
