Vikings, Packers End In 26-26 Tie
In what felt like another loss to most Vikings fans, Minnesota (2-8-1) squandered a 16-point fourth quarter lead at Lambeau Field, ending the game in Green Bay deadlocked with the Packers (5-5-1) in a 26-26 tie.
After the Packers took an early 7-0 lead, the Vikings rolled off 23 straight points, only to see Green Bay comeback to tie the game at 23. In overtime, the Packers kicked a field goal on the opening drive, only to see the Vikings do the same on the following possession. Both teams had several opportunities in the extra quarter to score a touchdown, which would have ended the game. Instead time expired, and the game ended in a tie, just the tenth in Minnesota Vikings’ team history.
Christian Ponder completed 21 of of 30 passes for 233 yards and one touchdown. Adrian Peterson carried the ball 32 times for 146 yards a a touchdown. Cordarrell Patterson was the leading receiver for the Vikes with 8 catches for 54 yards.
