The Minnesota Vikings (1-0) ended a road winless streak dating back to 2012, with an opening day 34-6 win over the St. Louis Rams (0-1). It's everything I wanted to see. Cordarrelle Patterson was a star. Adrian Peterson was a workhorse. Matt Cassell played smart. The defense was dominating. Bring on the Patriots!

Seriously, it was great. Mike Zimmer's brand of football looked good on day-one. Patterson carried the ball three times for 102 yards and a TD. Peterson carried the ball 21 times for 75 yards. Cassel went 17 for 25 for 175 yards, no interceptions, and TD throws to Jennings and Rudolph.

The defense shut down the Rams from the start, with 8 sacks, and two interceptions (one returned 81-yards by Harrison Smith for a touchdown).

Next Sunday it's the New England Patriots (0-1) at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis (Noon on CBS).

Skol Vikings!
