The Minnesota Vikings (7-8) lost to the Green Bay Packers (9-6) 38-25 this afternoon at Lambeau Field. The Vikings playoff hopes were faint to begin with, but the loss officially eliminates them from playoff contention.

Since starting the season 5-0, the Vikings have only won two of their last ten games -- becoming the first team in NFL history to become the last team to be undefeated in a regular season, and miss the playoffs.

Regardless of what happens in this week's Detroit/Dallas game, the NFC North Championship will belong to the winner of the Week 17 matchup between Green Bay & Detroit.

NFC North Standings

  1. Detroit Lions  (9-5)
  2. Green Bay Packers  (9-6)
  3. Minnesota Vikings (7-8)
  4. Chicago Bears  (3-11)

On New Year's Day the Vikings will host the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium in what will be their final game of the season.
