Vikings Drop 3rd Straight, Fall To Lions 22-16
The Minnesota Vikings (5-3) looked bad for the third straight week, this time falling to their NFC North rival Detroit Lions (5-4) 22-16 in overtime today at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Vikings kicker Blair Walsh missed yet another extra point, and had a field goal blocked in the loss.
How much longer can the Vikings keep Walsh on the roster -- now costing the Vikings two losses this season, in addition to the season-ending playoff loss against Seattle last year?
Ahh, the life of a Minnesota sports fan (yes, I'm feeling sorry for myself). The silver lining in today's NFL action is that the Packers lost at home to the Colts -- leaving Minnesota on top of the NFC North (although that seems less relevant each week).
NFC North Standings
- Minnesota Vikings (5-3)
- Detroit Lions (5-4)
- Green Bay Packers (4-4)
- Chicago Bears (2-6)
Next Sunday the Vikings travel to the nation's capital to face the Washington Redskins (4-3-1). The Vikes absolutely cannot afford to lose four straight.
Skol Vikings!
