It begins with "I was in bed with my wife ..." and ends with "I can't believe he didn't get hurt!" In between, Jerrod Niemann's story about Tyler Farr breaking into his hotel room in Jamaica takes all sorts of strange twists and turns, and ends with someone having to pay for damages.

Niemann, Farr, Chris Young and Logan Mize all traveled to Jamaica for the Boots on the Beach vacation and concert at Sandals Resort in Ocho Rios in May. They got to spend time greeting troops who'd just come home from overseas, as well as play for fans. They also got to spend time with one another, which is where the trouble begins.

She goes, ‘Yeah, he’s standing here with a fork and a knife and he’s trying to pick our lock.’ And he goes (impersonating Farr), ‘I’m comin' in there to kiss you, Niemann.’

Niemann tells Taste of Country it was about 2AM when he heard a ruckus. Wife Morgan got up to check it out. "I hear her say, 'Oh, hey.'"

The "A Guy Walks Into a Bar" singer had set a lounge chair up to climb to Niemann's second floor balcony. “She goes, ‘Yeah, he’s standing here with a fork and a knife and he’s trying to pick our lock.’"

"And he goes (impersonating his friend), ‘I’m comin' in there to kiss you, Niemann.’”

Farr got his kiss and turned to leave, but chose to exit using the same route, instead of the front door. There was a loud crash, which alarmed Niemann's wife of eight months. He didn't worry, however.

“If he’s alive and hurt, we’d hear him screaming, and if he’s dead, we can’t do anything about that," Niemann recalls saying. Farr was not seriously hurt, but the railing on the balcony was nearly ripped off. He landed on his butt and shoulder, according to Niemann, just three inches from the pool. The "Lover, Lover" singer adds that there's video of the event somewhere, but it has yet to turn up on social media.

Niemann told the story before taking the stage at the 2015 Taste of Country Music Festival in Hunter, N.Y. earlier this month. He also talked about his upcoming album before playing a little bit of it for fans at the sold-out fest.
