The Minnesota Twins (75-73) have now lost five straight following a sweep of yesterday's doubleheader at Target Field by the visiting Los Angeles Angels (76-72). The Angels took the first game 4-3, and won the second 5-2. The Twins are now 2.5 games back from the final Wild Card spot.

In fact, with the wins the Los Angeles Angels have now leap-frogged the Twins in the LA Wild Card race, leaving the Angels 1.5 games behind the Houston Astros for the final spot.  The Yankees currently occupy the first Wild Card position, 4 games ahead of Houston.

With only fourteen regular season games remaining on the schedule, each matchup is crucial. The Twins and Angels will play the fourth and final game of the series this afternoon at 1:10 PM.

The Twins have Monday off before opening a three-game series against the Cleveland Indians Tuesday night at Target Field.
