CLEVELAND - Ron Gardenhire picked up his 1,000th career win managing the Twins as Minnesota took down the Cleveland Indians 7-3 on Saturday.

Jason Kubel collected three hits and two RBI's in the game to lead the Twins offense. Joe Mauer also added two hits and scored a run for Minnesota.

Twins starting pitcher Kyle Gibson went five innings and picked up the win in the contest. Gibson allowed three hits and one run while striking out three.

Gardenhire now becomes the 5th active manager with 1,000 wins under his belt.

The Twins are now 2-3 this season. Minnesota will play Cleveland one more time at noon on Sunday before returning to Target Field for the home opener.
