I'm on a cleaning kick lately. Yesterday I told you about the top shortcuts Minnesotans in general take when spring cleaning. Today there's a new survey that went even further and broke down the top shortcuts most men take when cleaning.

These are (dirty) little tricks that I tried to get away with as a kid. Of course I'd hide all of my toys under my bed and sweep dirt under the rug--then I turned 13.

1. Men dust around items instead of picking them up to dust under them.

2. Wiping crumbs onto the floor. (I've done this, but I'm the one who will immediately sweep the floor afterward)

3. Putting dishes into the dishwasher without cleaning off the stuck on food. Guys, this just doesn't work. I have yet to see this executed successfully.

4. Instead of taking out the garbage, men push down what's already in the can to make more room. This kind of makes sense...you're getting more use out of your garbage bag...

5. Men will rinse down the shower instead of scrubbing it. (I hate cleaning the shower. It's the worst.)

6. They don't even wash the bathroom mirror.

7. Washing whites and colors together when doing the laundry.

8. Instead of scrubbing the toilet, they just squirt some bleach around.

9. They don't separate the recycling.

10. Instead of vacuuming, they would rather just pick little things off of the carpet by hand. (This seems like way more work to me.)

This of course isn't true for all men. I've met some really clean men--so, I know they're out there! Now that you've managed to procrastinate your spring cleaning a little longer, get back to work.
