KIMBALL -- Thousands of participants enjoyed a fun and challenging day at the Insane Inflatable 5K at Powder Ridge.

The event combines a 5K run up and down the hills at Powder Ridge with several inflatable obstacles scattered throughout the route.

"It was a lot harder than I expected," says runner Kenny Dumpprope. "[I] had a great time, it was a good workout and I'm ready to do it again next year."

The Insane Inflatable 5K is put on solely for the purpose of having fun -- there are no timers or trophies -- meaning people of all ages and skill levels were able to enjoy it and receive a medal at the finish line.

"There are people of all abilities out here -- you got people who haven't run in months or years, you got marathon runners out here," Dumpprope says.

"It's just about having a great time and coming out and enjoying yourself."

The Insane Inflatable 5K was the first 5K Kim Koechler has ever participated in and she encourages people to come out and try it next time.

"You [can] walk the whole course or run it," Koechler says. "Just get out here and do it -- move your body, it's amazing."

There is no set time for the Insane Inflatable 5K to return to Central Minnesota but based on the successful turnout this year, it's fair to assume it will be back in the near future.
