Thomas Rhett's wife Lauren says she wants five kids, although her husband hasn't quite made that commitment. The 26-year-old also indicates that starting a family is a priority.

"Yes, we're gonna have kids, hopefully sooner than later," Lauren Akins revealed during a Periscope chat with her fans on Twitter on Sunday night (Sept. 11). Moments later, she shared that she and the "Vacation" singer haven't quite come to an agreement on how many, but she wants a big — very big — family.

Thomas and Lauren will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary next month. She's played an important part of his career, often choosing singles or weighing in on songs he should record. It was Akins who begged her husband to write a pure love song before he came up with "Die a Happy Man," the biggest hit of his career and a nominee for both Single and Song of the Year at the 2016 CMA Awards.

Last fall Rhett talked about how his wife keeps him humble in the face of fame and success. The music business can be consuming, he says.

“I’ve even come home a lot of the time and talked about what I did on the road and what songs I’m gonna cut and then I realized I haven’t even asked my wife how her day was,” he says. "But thank goodness that my wife is there to call me out every single time, so my head shrinks a little bit.”

In her spare time, Lauren Akins is very involved with 147 Million Orphans, a non-profit project whose mission is to provide critical needs to orphans worldwide.
