A new study looked at things like average income, mental health statistics, crime, commutes, and how much FREE time people have. All 50 states were ranked and Minnesota was number one.

The top ten states:

  • Minnesota
  • Utah
  • Hawaii
  • California
  • Nebraska
  • New Jersey
  • South Dakota
  • Iowa
  • Wisconsin
  • New Hampshire

If you aren't happy in Minnesota, but you want to be happy somewhere else, don't choose these states:

  • West Virginia
  • Oklahoma
  • Louisianna
  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Mississippi
  • Kentucky
  • Missouri
  • Tennessee
  • Alaska

Notable mentions: Hawaii had the lowest rate of depression. People in Utah don't work very much and have a low divorce rate; I thought they had lots of wives...huh...maybe it works? (No thanks).

People in Colorado get a lot of sleep. Go figure. Maybe it's something to do with Colorado Brownies. Vermont is the safest place to live, North Dakota ias the highest income growth and lowest long term unemployment rate.
