Big shocker, when I was younger I was a talker.  The joke was I started talking at about nine months old and hadn't stopped since.

Like any young child, sometimes I would open my mouth at the wrong time and it would embarrass my parents.  That led to the rule -- little girls should be seen and not heard.  I can't stand that phrase to this day and I don't remember hearing other little girls being told that.
