Who knew so many awesome things came from right here in Minnesota?

Newscastic compiled a list of things that all of can thank Minnesota for.  It's an interesting list of inventions, places, activities, people and trends.  Some of them I knew about and others surprised me.

One of the things I knew was Southdale Mall in Edina was the first indoor shopping center. This is maybe the one that I'm most proud of.  How cool is it that shopping is my favorite activity and malls started here in Minnesota, where I'm from??? Okay, I guess I'm stretching it a bit!

We've also got the Mississippi River here and I didn't know that a guy from Lake City used the river to help develop the first successfully designed water skis.  Water skiing is totally awesome and I guess we had to find something to do on the lake besides fish and get a tan.

Toro, a Bloomington based company, invented the snow blower.  Thank goodness somebody had the brains and discipline to come up with a way for us to get out of our driveways only to hit the snow packed roads!

No doubt, we've got some pretty amazing minds here in Minnesota.  I mean c'mon -- Bob Dylan, Post-It Notes and breakfast -- the whole world should pretty much be groveling because of all the sweet stuff to come from here.  Okay, I'm pushing it again! Check out the full list here.  You might find some pretty cool surprises!

What do you love that's courtesy of Minnesota?
