The Weekender: Live Music, Comedy & Hair

A nationally touring folk musician comes to downtown St. Cloud for a one-night show at the Paramount Theatre this weekend. Dennis Warner and the D's will entertain the crowd with their lighthearted show of Americana. Dennis Warner performs in over 100 cities a year and comes back home to Minnesota to perform with the "D's" -- Dan Neale, Derrick Raiter, and Dennis "DK" Kennedy. Sky-high hilarity will ensue in downtown St. Cloud as Boeing-Boeing begins its three-week run on the Pioneer Place stage. Taking place in the 1960s, Boeing-Boeing tells the story of a swinging bachelor trying to juggle relationships with three different flight attendants in Paris. You can get your tickets to this hilarious show for $22 and $19 for seniors and students.

Rock music and free love will fill the Performing Arts Center at St. Cloud State University with their production of Hair. Nearly 50 years ago, the musical Hair created some controversy with its depiction of drugs, sex and anti-war sentiment. Now, it's a testament to the power of youth and a celebration of the times. Tickets are free with an SCSU ID, $10 for adults and $7 for seniors.

Renowned public radio personality Ira Glass visits Escher Auditorium on the campus of the College of St. Benedict this weekend. Reinventing Radio: An Evening with Ira Glass features the creator of the popular radio program, This American Life, sharing his stories and experiences making for a comedic and memorable night. Tickets for this event start at $25 with discounts available for seniors and students.

The St. Cloud Singing Saints will perform their annual spring concert this weekend at the Paramount Theatre in downtown St. Cloud. Joining them will be the eight-time world champion barbershop quartet, Masterpiece. You can get your tickets to this one night-only show for $18.
