Plenty to choose from this weekend. Join two Twin Cities actors for a day of learning the life of an actor, followed by their performance, Plus, there's a new exhibit featuring Minnesota Artists in town, Peter Pan takes flight out in St. Joseph, and a few other performances to check out.

    Essential Arts Exhibition and Celebration

    Visual Arts Minnesota brings you the Essential Arts Celebration. The exhibition is already underway in the Paramount Theatre Lobby Gallery, and it runs until February 15th. It features Minnesota artists, and all media of works. A reception is being held Friday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.  The awards ceremony begins at 7:00 p.m, which includes a docent talk of the winners by SCSU Assistant Professor of Art History, Godfre Leung. Artist critique will be held from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Friday) by jurors Eva Margaret, and Linda Pacel.

    Fruit Fly: The Musical

    Fruit Fly: The Musical is developed and performed by Twin Cities actors, and St. Cloud natives Sheena Janson, and Max Wojtanowicz. The event is happening in three parts through out the day. From 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. there with be a free masterclass with Max and Sheena. The public is free to attend while the two performers work one on one with high school theater performers. Then from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. there will be a free panel discussion where Max, Sheena, and Jason Hansen will talk about careers in theater arts. There will also be a Q&A session. Finally at 7:30 p.m. the show will go on. Tickets are $6 per ticket plus a $2 processing fee.

    The Elmwood boys are back in a hilarious new comedy. Digger, Doogski, Diesel, and Moose decide to take a break from winter with a tropical vacation. They sing about first dates and lost loves during a fun filled night you're sure to enjoy. Tickets are $22 for adults, and $19 for seniors/students. Digger is played by John Theis, Doogski by Randy Soltis, Moose  by Jeff Reiffer, and Diesel by Brad Busse.

    Peter Pan

    Peter Pan is coming to Escher Auditorium in St. Joseph. Join GREAT Children's Theatre as they head to Neverland along with Wendy and her brothers for fun filled original adventure. The script is written by director Dennis Whipple, adapted fromt eh novel by J.M. Barrie. This is a must see as it will feature sword fights, flying, and a live orchestra. Tickets are $12 for a season member, $14 for students/children, $19 for senior/educator/military/group, and $23 for adults. There are multiple weekends to see this show.     Chad Elliott

    BoDiddley's on 25th Ave.

    The Granite City Folk Society presents Chad Elliott. Averaging 150 shows per year, Elliott has been on the road for over a decade. Elliott has shared the stage with numerous artist such as Eric Church, and Lonestar. He is currently working on his 20th album. Tickets are $10 at the door.
