This weekend is full of tributes to great musicians, including Simon & Garfunkel, and Elton John. There is also a performance by two great musicians on violin, and piano. The Karkowska Sisters are bringing their talents to St. Cloud. Finally GREAT Children's Theatre is hitting the stage with Babe, The Sheep Pig, and the St. Cloud State University Theatre Department presents The Skin of our Teeth.

    The Fourth Friday Concert Series at Great River Arts in Little Falls presents The Sound of Simon, which is a Simon and Garfunkel tribute show. The tribute will feature songs such as "The Boxer", "Bridge Over Troubled Water", and "America", plus many more from this iconic duo. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $12.

    Karkowska Sisters : Violin Masterpieces 101

    Paramount Theater - St. Cloud

    The Karkowska Sisters were born and raise in Poland, and are an award winning duo. Anna and Kasha have played in many great halls including Carnegie Hall in New York City, and have toured through both Europe and North America. Their show here in St. Cloud is a free performance, but you still have to reserve your seats. Come out for a performance with great stories, and even better music. The first half ends with Carmen, and the second half ends with Yankee Doodle. Anna is a virtuoso violinist, and studied at the Julliard School of Music in New York City, while Kasha plays the piano, and studied at Chopin Academy in Warsaw, Poland.     Pioneer Place presents Elton Songs. This show features the tracks of Elton John and Bernie Taupin from 1970 - 1976. An 11-piece band accompanies Mick Sterling, and Peter Guertin on piano in a night filled with multiple hit songs. You'll hear "Your Song", "Philadelphia Freedom", "Saturday Night's Alright's Alright For Fighting", "Madman Across The Water", "Indian Sunset", "Funeral For A Friend", and "The King Must Die". Tickets are $32 in advance, and $35 at the door.

    Babe The Sheep Pig

    GREAT Children's Theatre presents Babe, The Sheep Pig. This show, based of of Dick King-Smith's children's storybook, follows Farmer Hoggett's new pig. Babe surprises everyone when he is able to get sheep to do as he directs. Under the direction of his mother, Hoggett's dog Fly, Babe is able to gain the trust of all the sheep, and enters a sheep-herding competition. This show is also an Academy Award nominated film, Babe. Tickets are $12 for season members, $13 for students/children, $16 for seniors/educators/military, and $19 for adults. The show opens up this weekend, and runs through Sunday, March 8th. There are school matinees today, March 3rd, and March 4th.

    The Skin of our Teeth

    The Skin of our Teeth, written in 1942 by Thornton Wilder, is directed by Jeffrey Bleam. The show follows the Antrobus family through their adventures in the Ice Age, the Great Flood, and World War III, all from their home in New Jersey. This comedy has themes that explore women's rights, climate change, and the decline of the nuclear family. This is the only weekend to catch this play on the Center Stage of the PAC building on the SCSU campus. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for non-SCSU students/seniors, and free with a SCSU ID.
