You won't believe this!

The Huffington Post recently took a look at Google Trends and discovered what the most Googled recipe is in each state.  The list is quite interesting and I have to say I was a little surprised by the results for Minnesota.

I figured Minnesotan were probably looking up recipes for hotdish.  After all, that is something we're known for here in these parts.  Now, maybe it's completely unnecessary because everybody, and I literally mean everybody, has some kind of hotdish recipe here.

The recipes that Minnesotans are looking up on the internet are ones for salmon.  YUCK!!!  I'm not a fish eater to begin with, but I also have a horrible scent memory (I'm pretty sure that's something I just made up) that includes salmon.

When I worked in banking, we would get some sort of food for Christmas.  One year it happened to be salmon and my family was pretty excited.  My dad went on the internet to find a fancy way to make it and he found some recipe that called for maple syrup.  Yes, maple syrup and salmon.  Together.  In the same pan.  Baking.

I can honestly say that smell is near the top of my list of all time worst smells ever.  In fact, if I think about it enough, I can still smell it.  It was horrendous, utterly nasty.  Needless to say, I wouldn't eat it and I don't think it was a big hit because it's never been made again.
