I live in Monticello, which is just a few minutes east of Hasty.  Hasty is such a small town but, up until the other day, I never knew it had such a big history.

To me, Hasty seems like a tiny town.  One that you'll miss if you blink.  To a degree that's true but once upon a time it was a thriving town that housed many businesses.

One of my Facebook friends shared this article from a website called Forgotten Minnesota.  The website offers up many fascinating stories and historical facts from around Minnesota.  Honestly, it reignited my love of history.

This particular article, Hasty: A Minnesota Ghost Town, describes a once booming town that was home to general store, a blacksmith shop, a creamery turned cheese shop, a depot, a school and much more.  This is totally mind blowing to me but it's fun to try to figure out where each of these places once stood.  I know a few but not all of them.

After reading this I went to Barnes and Noble because I needed a good Minnesota history book.  I bought one on Brainerd, a place I love.  Stay tuned for some good stories from there!  In the meantime, I would highly recommend checking out Forgotten Minnesota to get a little taste of Minnesota's history.
