As I used to say when I had a motorcycle -- "If I die on this thing, there will be a cell phone involved," -- meaning it would be at the hands of a distracted driver. In fact, texting & driving is the single reason I don't own a bike today. Minnesota law enforcement will be cracking down on texting & driving next week. Good!

Each year in Minnesota, distracted or inattentive driving is a factor in one in four crashes, resulting in at least 70 deaths and 350 serious injuries -- and these numbers are likely under reported.

This year’s texting & driving crack-down will involve more than 300 law enforcment agencies -- from April 11 to 17.
