Taylor Swift took time out of her busy schedule to attend the biggest fashion event of the year on Monday (May 6), the 2013 Met Ball aka the Met Gala. It's an A-list event, and the fashion community eagerly anticipates what the stars will wear. Swift did not disappoint, donning a black J. Mendel gown with an embellished bodice and slightly see-through side panels.

The theme of the event was 'Punk: Chaos to Couture,' and Swift played with the concept in a subtle way. She wore a long, curve-hugging black gown with an encrusted neckline that had an almost a military uniform feel. The stylish singer looked quite regal, actually.

She wore heavy, black smoky eye makeup, giving her a little bit of a punk rock edge. Swift's nails were painted in a slick and shiny black lacquer, which also upped the rough-around-the-edges factor of her overall ensemble. She kept her hair long and falling in loose waves, with her now-signature bangs swept back. It was a slightly messy, bedhead 'do, and since we're used to her sleek, polished, straight strands, it was another element of her look that interpreted the event's punk theme in a soft, not-too-obvious way.

The '22' singer has been flawless on red carpet this year, not afraid to go the extra mile for glam. She swung for the fences and knocked it out of the park at the 2013 Met Ball. See pictures below.
