The National Weather Service is reminding everyone to slow down and use caution while driving as this storm is expected to make for slippery road conditions.
Governor Mark Dayton has called out the Minnesota National Guard to help stranded motorists as a winter storm sweeps across the southern half of the state.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has issued a 'No Travel Advisory' for parts of southern Minnesota for tonight through tomorrow due to expected blizzard conditions. A Blizzard Warning has been issued, and hazardous road conditions with severely reduced visibilities are expected.
It's still a couple of days away, but winter weather watches and advisories have already been posted for the southern part of Minnesota -- including Rochester, Red Wing, Mankato, and Albert Lea, for up to a foot of snow Wednesday and Wednesday night. Happy Spring!
Old Man Winter reintroduced himself to Central Minnesota with a snowy wallop that has officially dumped 10" on St. Cloud as of 3:45 this afternoon according to the National Weather Service. With 1-4" of snowfall expected overnight, the Winter Storm Warning has been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory through midnight.
