The St. John's Baseball team lost 2-0 Thursday in an elimination game to UW-Whitewater in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The Johnnies outhit Whitewater 8-6. Whitewater scored single runs in the 7th and 9th innings. Aaron Pfaff had 3 hits and Tom Druk had 2 hits for St. John's.
The St. John's baseball team lost 4-2 to Coe College of Iowa in La Crosse, Wisconsin today in their first game of the NCAA Division III tournament at the Midwest Regional. St. John's scored a run in the first inning but Coe came back with 2 runs in the 2nd inning and 2 more in the 4th.
St. John's head men's basketball coach Jim Smith talked with me on WJON today. Jim is the all-time winningest coach in Minnesota college basketball history with 786. Smith led his teams to seven MIAC titles, five MIAC playoff titles, nine trips to the NAIA tournament and eight trips to the NCAA Division III playoffs, most recently in 2007.
