The Minnesota Gophers (2-1) needed everything they had to top visiting Kent State (1-2) 10-7 yesterday afternoon in Minneapolis. St. John's (3-0) kept their unbeaten record in tact with a 24-16 win over Concordia College (2-1) in Moorhead. SCSU (1-2) rallied late, but came up short -- falling 21-20 to Southwest Minnesota State (3-0) at Husky Stadium.

The Minnesota Gophers (1-1) needed overtime to get the 23-20 win yesterday in Fort Collins, Colorado over Colorado State (1-1). St. Johns (2-0) rolled over visiting Buena Vista University (0-2) 56-7. The SCSU Huskies (1-1) came up short in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, falling to Augustana College (2-0) 41-27.
