It’s a painting you’ve probably seen many times, maybe in your parents' or grandparents’ homes. And here's the story of how it started right here in Minnesota.
I'm so tired of these blue and yellow walls--they've been this color forever and no one really knows why. I think it's supposed to look like a beach...I don't know. So, I'm going to paint them today.
Installation artist Gregory Euclide took an ordinary landscape and added a 3D element so that a painted river and forest appear to spill out of the frame and into the museum in which it hangs. The painting/diorama hybrid is currently on display at New York City’s Museum of Arts and Design as part of an exhibition called “Otherworldly: Optical Delusions and Small Realities.”
