The Minnesota Wild continued their mid-season slump Tuesday with a disappointing 4-3 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild are now 18-15-5 on the season and are now six points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Wild erased a 2-0, second period deficit with a trio of goals from Ryan Carter, Justin Fontaine and Marco Scandella. Scandella's game winner was his ninth goal of the season, fifth-best among all NHL defensemen.
The Minnesota Wild are looking to snap a five game losing skid Monday night when they take on the Jets in Winnipeg. The Jets sent the Wild to their most recent defeat with a 4-3 overtime decision on Saturday night in St. Paul.
The Minnesota Wild lost 5-2 at home to Philadelphia Tuesday night. Marco Scandella and Charlie Coyle each scored a goal for the Wild. Coyle's goal in the 2nd period tied the game at 2 but Wayne Simmons scored a goal late in the 2nd to give the Flyers a 3-2 lead.
