Now that long-losing Cleveland has won a pro-sports title (their first since 1964), it's time to see what pro-sports markets are in the longest championship drought. Good news, Minnesota is in the Top-Five. (#Wild, #Twins, #Vikings, #Timberwolves)
In an announcement that surprised almost no one, the NBA has named Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns Rookie of the Year for the 2015-2016 season.
Despite their improved record, the Wolves announced after the game that interim head coach Sam Mitchell had been removed of his duties along with head of basketball operations Milt Newton.
The Denver Nuggets snapped a five-game home losing streak with a 111-108 overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. Danilo Gallinari finished with 23 points, including nine in overtime to lead the Nuggets.
Flip Saunders, the longtime NBA coach who won more than 650 games in nearly two decades and was trying to rebuild the Minnesota Timberwolves as team president, coach and part owner, died Sunday, the team said. He was 60.
The Twins are fighting for a playoff spot, the Vikings are off to a nice start, the Wild are starting a new season, the Timberwolves are loaded with young talent, and the Lynx are in the WNBA finals. Who are you most excited about?

Flip Saunders announced a few weeks ago that he had a Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is a form of cancer. Flip originally stated that the cancer was "treatable and curable" and that he would continue to serve as both head coach and as the president of basketball operations. We are unsure how long Mitchell will be the interim head coach, but expect him to be interim at least for a couple of months.
