The top-4 seeds -- Apollo, Sartell, Cathedral, and Little Falls -- have advanced to the Section 6A boys hockey semifinals tonight at the MAC in St. Cloud. Tonight's winners will meet on Thursday night (2/25) back at the MAC to play for the right to advance to the state tournament.

Top-seeded Hill-Murray beat the Sartell/Sauk Rapids Storm 'N Sabres 5-0 Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center in the first round of the Class AA Girls Hockey State Tournament.

A send-off was held at Bernick's Arena in Sartell this (Wednesday) afternoon for the state tournament-bound Sartell-Sauk Rapids girls hockey team.

The third-seeded Sartell Sabres held off the Tech Tigers with a 7-4 win at Bernick's Arena. Matt Michaud registered a hat trick for the Sabres, and Cullen Chisholm had a goal and an assist. The game was tied at four early in the third period before the Sabres pulled away for the win.

The #3 Sartell Sabres will host #6 Tech at Bernick's Arena on WJON. The Sabres swept the Tigers this season, posting a 3-1 win on December 8th and a 3-2 win on January 22nd. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on WJON, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:45.

The Apollo Eagles (22-2) earned the top seed in the Section 6A boys hockey tournament Wednesday. The Eagles will face the winner of the #8 River Lakes and #9 Wadena-Deer Creek game (played on Saturday) on Tuesday at the MAC in St. Cloud at 7:30.

Apple Valley netminder Taylor DeForrest made 112 saves in the loss, while the Eagles managed 40 shots in the game.

The preseason Minnesota Hockey Coaches Association Class A Top-20 poll is out, and it features several area teams -- all lined up behind top-ranked Hermantown. There's a lot of hockey teams in the state, so top-20 is sayin' something. Here in Minnesota, it's time to play hockey!

In Class AA, Lakeville North completed a perfect 31-0 season with a 4-1 State Championship win over Duluth East last night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Earlier in the day East Grand Forks repeated as Class A Champions by defeating Hermantown 5-4 in overtime.

St. Cloud Apollo's (23-5-2) state hockey title hopes were dashed with a 2-0 loss to top-seed Hermantown (27-2-1) this afternoon at the Xcel Energy Center. The Apollo Eagles will face Mahtomedi tomorrow morning at 9 AM in the Class A Third Place game in St. Paul.

Today’s game will start 30 minutes after the conclusion of the 11 AM contest between Mahtomedi and East Grand Forks, and can be heard on AM 1390 The Fan.
