The high school football section playoffs got underway on Tuesday night. Here is how the local teams fared.

A pair of tonight's games can be heard on our airwaves.

The High School Football section pairings have been announced for the upcoming playoffs. Moorhead is #1 in Section 8-5-A, Sartell is #2, Apollo is #3, Alexandria #4, Tech is #5 and Sauk Rapids-Rice is #6.

There are only two weeks remaining in the high school football regular season, with games on Friday, October 10th and Wednesday, October 15th.

The Associated Press High School Football State rankings were released Wednesday. Sartell-St. Stephen is ranked #7 in the State in Class 5-A. The Sabres are 4-1 and will play at Rocori at 7pm Friday night, pregame on WJON at 6:50.

The Sabres cracked the top ten in Class 5A after topping Tech 33-19 in their season opener last week.

The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres defeated the Moorhead Spuds 24-19 Saturday night for the Section 8-5A championship.

The Cathedral Crusaders got a bit of a break when the #4-seeded Pierz Pioneers topped Foley last week, giving the third-seeded Crusaders another home game.

The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres beat St. Cloud Tech 32-19 Saturday afternoon at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville. The Sabres have won six straight games, while Tech's season ends with a 5-4 record. Sartell received the opening kickoff and drove 69 yards in 5:22, with Alex Haima capping the drive by scoring on a pass from Brandon Snoberger from eight yards out, making the score 6-0...

It's hard to believe, but the 2013 Minnesota State High School League football playoffs are getting underway Tuesday night with four local teams scheduled to play in the area.
