The Becker Bulldogs are in the midst of defending their state title and are led by Dwight Lundeen, who's the only head football coach in the program's 46-year history.

The Becker Bulldogs (10-0) topped Benilde-St. Margaret's (5-5) 48-7 yesterday afternoon in Osseo, and the Pierz Pioneers (10-0) defeated Albany (9-1) 9-0 in St. Cloud to send both teams on to the State Football Tournament semifinals next week. The score was ROCORI 19 and Hermantown 13 at halftime. ROCORI got the ball to start the second half. They moved the ball very well down field but was unable to score on their first possession of the second half.

Albany advanced to the Class 3A Section 6 final with a 40-6 win last night over New London-Spicer. Becker cruised past visiting Zimmerman 34-3 and will face Orono in Saturday's section final. There are a bunch of area high school teams playing in Sectional Semifinals today & tonight for the right to advance to the finals -- and continue their runs to the state title. 98.1 can only be in one place at a time, so we left it up to you to decide! You voted all day long...AND, we're going to party in Pierz tonight! Thanks to all who voted. It came down to just 31 votes.

Sartell-St. Stephen's football season comes to an end after falling to unbeaten Moorhead 41-27. ROCORI advances after going on the road and shutting out Detroit Lakes 33-0. Royalton's playoff run came to an end last night, falling 14-0 at Eveleth-Gilbert. Foley advanced in the Minnesota High School football playoffs last night with a 21-14 win over visiting Milaca. Paynesville knocked off visiting Benson 64-35. Mora ended St. Cloud Cathedral's season with a 42-7 victory. See how the rest of the area teams fared.
