This week for our All Star Student series we hit the Apollo High School tennis courts to meet with junior Sam Gerdes. Sam is no stranger to after school activities. She's involved in anything from athletics to helping freshman students at Apollo through Link Crew.

The Apollo High School athletic field and track will see some much needed improvements this summer. District 742 buildings and ground supervisor Bryan Brown says the rubber track is falling apart and desperately needed to be fixed. The plan is to eventually put turf in on the football field-all of the summer modifications will work towards that goal.

This weekend I went to the North Jr. High School's CmPS garage sale. CmPS is North and Apollo's problem solving team.

Design images for a new Tech High School and an updated Apollo High School were presented to the St. Cloud Area School District on Wednesday night. The proposed new Tech High School would fit 1,800 students and would have 360,000 total square feet.

I was gone yesterday to take a rest from my super long weekend! I watched Apollo High School take on Madhmedi High School in the State Boy's Hockey Tournament at Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul. Apollo fell to Mahtomedi 4-3. They came in at fourth place in class A.

The smell of popcorn and mini-doughnuts filled the air as Apollo High School beat Breck High School with a score of 1-0 in overtime in the quarterfinals of the State Boy's Hockey Tournament at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul last night.

Coach Pete Matanich and his Apollo hockey team took off for state today through a crowd of fans who are waiting for the tournament to begin. They will take on Break in the first round at the XCEL Energy Center.

Apollo High School is suspending football and girls basketball coach Nic Peterson.

A near capacity crowd came out to see 5-star recruit and sophomore point guard Tyus Jones of Apple Valley at the Granite City Classic at Apollo High School Wednesday night.  Jones electrified the crowd at times as Apple Valley beat Buffalo.  Rocori before a huge crowd beat Orono 65-53.

The amount of talent I have seen in Central Minnesota is amazing to me. I’m talking pure, natural talent that is on stage at our local high schools. I have been blown away by the productions I have seen so far. If you aren’t catching this talent on stage, you are truly missing out. This time we head to Apollo High School for their production of 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'.
