On Sunday, January 22nd at 11 am, join me for the Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight when we put Trisha Yearwood in the spotlight. The Country Classic Radio Show gets rolling at 9 am at 98.1 FM Minnesota’s New Country, online and on your mobile device.

Patricia Lynn “Trisha” Yearwood jumped to stardom in 1991 with the release of her hit debut single, “She’s in Love with the Boy.” She became known as one of country music’s strongest female singers, helping to redefine the sound of country music in the 1990’s.  She was born in 1964 on September 19th in Monticello, Georgia.  Her credits include country music singer, author and actress. She’s a member of the Grand Ole Opry and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2000.

Yearwood has also written three very successful cookbooks, becoming a two-time New York Times best-selling author.  Since April 2012, Yearwood has hosted a cooking show on the Food Network titled, “Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.”

In 1997 she had a role on the CBS drama, “Jag” and appeared as a guest star in the television series “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” in 1994.

Yearwood has been married three times.  On December 10, 2005, she married Garth Brooks in a private ceremony at the couples' home in Owasso, Oklahoma.
