Country singer and keyboardist Ron Milsap has a command of country, country-pop and pop standards. He has become one of the most successful country artists of all time. Born January 16, 1943 in Robbinsville, North Carolina. In 1972 Milsap moved to Nashville, Tennessee and signed a recording contract with RCA.  That's when the hits started to flow.  "I Hate You" 1973, "Pure Love" and "Please don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends." In 1981 he recorded the beautiful ballad, "Smoky Mountain Rain" which exposed him to the pop chart. He had the same success with the songs, "There's No Gettin' Over Me" in 1981 and "Any Day Now" in 1982. In 1986, he won Best Male Country Vocal Performance for the album, "Lost in the Fifties Tonight." In 1990, Milsap published an autobiography entitled, "Almost Like a Song" which showcased his life from poverty to country music superstar. Milsap amassed 40 number one country hits, six Grammy Awards and 8 Country Music Association Awards.
