Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight To Feature Ronnie Milsap
Join me at 11 a.m. on March 23rd for the Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight featuring Ronnie Milsap. The Country Classic Show starts at 9 a.m. on air and online.
Ronnie has mastered a broad range of musical styles. His command of country, country-pop, pop standards, rock and roll, rhythm & blues and classical has made him one of the most successful country acts of all time.
Throughout his childhood, he was interested in music. He studied classical music, learned several instruments and eventually mastered the piano. In late 1972, Ronnie made the move to Nashville.
In the mid 70’s he started to have success with songs such as Pure Love and Daydreams About Night Things. His niche of uptempo love songs continued in 1976 when Milsap was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry with What Goes On When The Sun Goes Down. Milsap’s winning ways continued through the 1980’s with numerous top ten hits.
Ronnie was born January 16th, 1946 and has been blind since birth. He established his Ronnie Milsap Foundation for Individuals with Visual Impairments in 1985. He is credited with six Grammy Awards and forty number one country hits.
On December 27, 2013 it was announced that Milsap would release a new album. Summer #17 was released on earlier this year. The album features new recordings of classic pop, R&B and country songs.
