Ronnie McDowell has an amazing stage presence that fills concert seats time and again.  He is best known for his 1977 song “The King is Gone,” a tribute to Elvis Presley who passed away in August 1977. That recording took off, gaining airplay on country and pop stations all across the great USA and around the world. Overnight this young Vietnam Veteran who served on USS Hancock and USS Kitty Hawk, from Portland, Tennessee was a star.

From that single forward, McDowell charted more than 40 country hits on the Billboard country chart and several studio albums.  Another chart-topping single is “Older Women” which scored a number one.  McDowell still tours, he was born March 25,

McDowell still tours, he was born March 25, 1950 he turned 67 this past March.  McDowell lives in Hendersonville, Tennessee.  He is also the father of five children.
