Moe Bandy, one of America's all time leading classic country artist and performer. He had a string of hits in the 1970's into the early 1980's.

Moe seldom strayed from the Texas honky-tonk style he was brought up with. Moe grew up in San Antonio, Teas listening to the music of country stars and to his father's country band. Moe was born February 12th, 1944 in Meridan, Mississippi. He's been active in the country music business since 1964.

He showed very little interest in music at first, but a great deal of interest in Rodeos. He did bronco and bull riding and by the time he was 16, he and his brother Mike were competing in rodeos all over Texas. Bandy once said, "I think my songs are about life." He said, "there's cheating, drinking and divorcing going on everywhere and that's what country music is all about."

Moe opened his Americana Theatre in Branson, Missouri in 1991. He still performs in Branson.

Sunday April 14th the spotlight will shine on Moe Bandy's music; "Bandy the Rodeo Clown," "Hank Williams, You Wrote My Life" and more. Join me for the Country Classic Spotlight at 11 a.m. We get started at 9 a.m. with the 98 Country Classic Show. 98.1 FM 98 Country.
