Join me Sunday morning at 11 a.m. when I feature Larry Gatlin and The Brothers, Steve and Rudy on the Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight.

With soaring vocals and the solid background singing of Steve and Rudy, The Gatlin Brothers, have enjoyed a career that has brought them number one records, Grammy Awards and White House performances.

After high school, Larry went to the University of Houston on a football scholarship.  He majored in English, which later served him well in his songwriting.  Throughout the 70's and 80's the Gatlin Brothers lit up major marquees and packed concert halls across the great USA.  Their biggest hits together include Broken Lady, All the Gold in California, Houston Means I'm One Day Closer to You, She Used to be Somebody's Baby and Talkin' to the Moon.

All the Gold in California is written by Larry and recorded by Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers Band.  The song was released in August of 1979. On January 19, 1985, Larry and The Brothers sang the song at the nationally televised Presidential Inaugural Gala, the day before the second inauguration of Ronald Reagan.

After more than a decade of singing together, in December of 1992 the Gatlin Brothers embarked on a farewell tour before retiring to their own theater in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Since 2010, Larry Gatlin has contributed to Fox News channel and Fox Business Network as a political and social commentator.
