Join me April 26th at 11 am for the Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight featuring Roseanne Cash.

Roseanne Cash is a singer and songwriter best known for her country hits Seven Year Ache,  I Don't Know Why You Don't Want Me and others.

She was born on May 24, 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee.  Her parents are famous country singer Johnny Cash and Vivian Liberto, Johnny's first wife.  They divorced in 1966 when she was just 11 years old.  Roseanne and her siblings relocated to Ventura, California to live with their mother.

You could say she inherited a love of music from her father.  After graduation from her high school in 1993, she joined her father's tour as a background singer.  In 1979 she and Rodney Crowell married.  She began playing with Crowell's band, The Cherry Bombs in California.

The two divorced in 1992 and in 1995 she married again.  This time to producer John Leventhal whom she is still married to.

My favorite song from Roseanne is a song she wrote called Seven Year Ache. The song was released in February of 1981 from the album of the same name.  It was her first #1 country hit.

You act like you were born tonight, face down in a memory but feeling all right.

In late 2007, she underwent brain surgery for a rare condition and after a successful recovery, she resumed writing and live appearances.  Roseanne Cash turns 60 years old on May 24th of this year.

Remember we take you back to country music roots every Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm.  Request your favorite country classic's by calling 320-252-9897 or by email -- dick@minnesotasnewcountry.com.
