COLLEGEVILLE -- Within the complex named for legendary coach John Gagliardi, the two-time national champion St. John's Golf team has a state of the art facility in which to hone their skills.

Named after their coach and St. John's Athletic Director Bob Alpers, the "Alpers Learning Center" features two simulation screens with more than a dozen courses on each, and a putting green.

Ryan Gallagher, a senior on the golf team calls it the best facility he's seen in his college career.

"I can safely say that we have the best facilities of any Division III school, especially in the mid-west region."

The Gagliardi Complex cost six-million dollars and was funded in it's entirety by St. John's Alumni.

Alpers says it will be open to the public, but on a limited basis.

"First it's for the Golf Team, then second it's for the St. John's St. Ben's community, so we have very specific rental times that we're going to have open to the public."

The cost to rent the facility out will be $15 for a two hour block for students, and $20 per person for the public. The center will be open to the public on Monday's and Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. and on the weekends from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
