While many Saint John's University students were sleeping in and catching up on homework over winter break, one student spent his time doing something a little different. First-year student Mitch Fritz built himself an igloo using designs that his mom found on Pinterest.

It's something that Fritz, a junior Canadian hockey player, has been trying to do for a few years now, but the weather conditions were never quite right. The project took him about ten hours to complete using about 500 ice bricks constructed using banana bread tins. The igloo is multicolored and even glows in the dark.

The igloo is quickly gaining national attention and was even featured on NBC. If you want to check out the igloo, you can find it outside of St. Thomas of Aquinas Hall. Fritz stopped into the studio to talk with us about his inspiration for the project!
