Six Awesome Things to Do in Central Minnesota With the Kids This Summer That Will Keep You From Going Crazy
Summer break is coming up for many Central Minnesota students and it's time to start making plans so they don't drive you crazy for the next three months. Here's a list of awesome places to check out right here in Central Minnesota.
Summerland Family Fun Park
Summerland is fun for the whole family! Just off Hwy 23 in St. Cloud, this awesome theme park offers something for everyone including mini golf, a water slide, bumper karts, batting cages and a whole lot more! They're open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the water slide opens June 12th.
Paul Bunyan Land
I remember going to Paul Bunyan Land when I was a kid, although it was in a different location. The park features a huge Paul Bunyan that you can get your picture taken with, rides and lots of other fun activities for the whole family. The park is open through September with varying hours.
 
Lake Maria State Park
Lake Maria State Park, just off of County Road 39 in Monticello, is another great place to check out with the kids. There's tons of activities and learning experiences they can participate in. You can also hike or even go horseback riding through there as well. There's a campground and picnic area too!
Hemker Park and Zoo
Bringing the kids to Hemker Park and Zoo will be a fun and educational experience for everyone. The facility features a large variety of animals that will intrigue kids and adults alike. There's also the opportunity to have celebrations there as well. They're open everyday through October 31st from 10 am to 6 pm.
Stearns History Museum
The Stearns History Museum makes learning about history even more fun with all kinds of interactive lessons the kids will love! There are several activities offered throughout the summer that will continue to teach children even while school is out. They're open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 5 pm.
Minnesota Fishing Museum and Education Center
Located in Little Falls, the Minnesota Fishing Museum and Education Center would be a great educational experience for everyone! The museum features a wide variety of fishing gear that once belonged to those who pioneered freshwater fishing. The exhibits also include interesting memorabilia and you'll get a sense of being on the lake from the moment you walk in. The facility is open from 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 12 pm to 4 pm on Sundays.
