UPDATE: Severe Thunderstorm Watch Expired

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 5 AM Sunday morning for West Central Minnesota, including Douglas, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Pope, Stearns, and Todd Counties. Damaging winds and large hail are possible in and near the watch area. Tune to 98.1 for possible warnings.

From the National Weather Service tonight: Thunderstorms across northwest Minnesota will begin to race south-southeast across west-central and central Minnesota through 2 am. The strongest storms are expected to produce strong winds, hail and torrential rainfall. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for portions of the area through 5 am.
