The Minnesota Wild scored three third period goals but ended up falling short in a 5-4 loss at Colorado Thursday night. The Avalanche used three second period goals to pull away with the win.

Zach Parise scored a pair of goals and had two assists to lead the Wild. Mikael Granlund and Jason Pominville had the other goals for Minnesota.

Wild goaltender Darcy Kuemper made 27 saves on 32 shots, and Avs goalie Semyon Valamov had 29 saves in the win.

With Vancover idle on Thursday and Los Angeles losing, the Wild remain in seventh place in the Western Conference with 64 points. Minnesota is at Calgary late Saturday night.
