If you have a mess of safety pins around your house, consider it a hot commodity right now. Stores can't keep them on the shelves, and here's why...

It's caused by the outcome of the election, and the targeted abuse of minorities, immigrants, and the LGBTQ community since the result of the election Tuesday. People wearing the pins are showing a peaceful sign of solidarity to these groups.

Since St. Cloud is an area of many of these groups, the likelihood of finding safety pins in stores may soon be impossible. The area has 4 stores that normally carry a large stock of larger size safety pins that are so popular - Crafts Direct, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Jo-Ann Fabrics.

Christopher Keetly, a blogger for Medium.com, wrote an article on how to better your time and support for these targeted groups and urging people to "leave your safety pins at home". Read the article here.

If you'd like to see how popular this is, just type #safetypins on Facebook and Twitter. It'll be clear that this is all over the place.
