I hate waking up and looking at the news everyday. It seems like there's always something horrible happening somewhere in the world.

It's an absolute tragedy that Philando Castile was shot and killed by an officer for what appears to be absolutely NOTHING. And, to top it off, it happened right here in our own backyard. That enrages me. If you've watched the Facebook footage streamed by his fiance just moments after he was shot, you'd be horrified and honestly, quite frankly, pissed off. It's mind blowing to think that this isn't an anomaly and it happens more often than we'd even want to know. I've read many Facebook comments submitted by people who are sticking up for the officer who shot Castile. SERIOUSLY?! It makes me sick. Someone please tell me what crime he committed that could justify taking his life--and in front of a child and his fiance?! It's absolute madness.

But, then this morning five officers in Dallas, Texas were killed by snipers, and 11 were shot during a protest over Castile's death. What the HELL is going on with the world?! Honestly?! My heart is breaking for their families and friends and the Dallas community. This is so unbelievably sad.

Something absolutely needs to change. Mahatma Gandhi said it best, "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." What happened to peaceful protest? What happened to protecting and serving the public for the greater good? This is unacceptable. Have we all lost our minds?! There's a massive system failure here and things need to change.

As a human being today, I'm disgusted, ashamed, enraged and sick about the events that have happened over the past few days. I'm actually at a loss for words.
