UNDATED - The Red Cross is asking you to help with their recovery effort from Superstorm Sandy.

Spokeswoman Megan Mrozek says this is going to be one of their biggest recovery efforts they've had in several years.

Mrozek says they've also had to cancel over 100 blood drives, resulting in a nationwide blood shortage.  She says you can give blood as a way of helping-out as well.

The Minnesota Red Cross has sent five volunteers and two staff members to help out with the recovery.  Mrozek says many more volunteers will be sent in the coming days and weeks.

You can donate money several ways:  you can go to their website -- redcross.org, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or text the Red Cross to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
